Terms of Service

These Terms set out the conditions and procedures for using eosatom (the "Service"), a community service operated by the eosatom Operations Team (the "Operator"), and the rights and obligations of the Operator and members. The Korean version of these Terms is the official version; this English version is provided for convenience.

Article 1 (Purpose)

The purpose of these Terms is to set out the rights, obligations and responsibilities of the Operator and users, and other necessary matters, for the use of the Service provided by the Operator.

Article 2 (Definitions)

  1. "Service" means all online services the Operator provides under the name eosatom, including boards, comments, likes, scraps, notifications and search.
  2. "User" means any member or non-member who accesses the Service and uses it under these Terms.
  3. "Member" means a person who has agreed to these Terms and created an account to use the Service.
  4. "Post" means any information a member uploads to the Service, including writing, comments, photos, videos and links.
  5. "Anonymous board" means a board where author information is not shown to other users.

Article 3 (Posting and Amendment of the Terms)

  1. The Operator posts these Terms so that anyone can read them through the "Terms of Service" link at the bottom of the Service.
  2. The Operator may amend these Terms to the extent that it does not violate relevant laws, such as the Act on the Regulation of Terms and Conditions.
  3. When the Terms are amended, the Operator will announce the effective date and the reason for the change at least 7 days before the effective date. Changes unfavorable to members will be announced at least 30 days in advance and also sent to the email address registered at sign-up.
  4. Members who do not agree to the amended Terms may withdraw. If a member does not express refusal by the announced effective date, the member is deemed to have agreed to the amended Terms, but only if this was clearly stated in the announcement.

Article 4 (Rules Outside These Terms)

Matters not covered by these Terms follow the operating policies separately set by the Operator, the rules of each board, and relevant laws.

Article 5 (Membership Registration)

  1. A user can become a member by entering an email address, name and password and agreeing to these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
  2. Children under 14 cannot register as members.
  3. The Operator may refuse the following applications, or revoke membership even after registration:
    • Using another person's information or entering false information
    • Re-registration by a person who lost membership under these Terms
    • The applicant is under 14
    • Any other case where the purpose of violating relevant laws or these Terms is clear

Article 6 (Account Management)

  1. Members must manage their own account and password and must not let others use them.
  2. If a member learns that the account has been stolen or is being used by someone else, the member must change the password immediately and notify the Operator.
  3. The Operator is not responsible for damage caused by a member's careless account management, except for damage caused by the Operator's intent or negligence.

Article 7 (Withdrawal)

  1. Members may withdraw at any time on My Page, and the Operator will process the withdrawal immediately in accordance with relevant laws.
  2. Posts already uploaded are not deleted automatically when you withdraw. If you want your posts removed, please delete them yourself before withdrawing. After withdrawal, the link to your account is removed, which makes it difficult to verify your identity and handle deletion requests.
  3. The personal information of withdrawn members is handled in accordance with the Privacy Policy.

Article 8 (Provision and Modification of the Service)

  1. The Operator provides the Service, including boards, comments, likes, scraps, notifications and search, free of charge.
  2. The Operator may change the content of the Service for operational or technical reasons. Changes that significantly affect use will be announced in advance.

Article 9 (Suspension of the Service)

  1. The Operator may temporarily suspend the Service for unavoidable reasons such as equipment inspection, replacement or failure, communication outages, or natural disasters.
  2. Planned suspensions will be announced in advance; if advance notice was not possible, notice will be given immediately after the suspension.

Article 10 (Rights to and Use of Posts)

  1. The copyright of a post belongs to the member who wrote it.
  2. Members allow the Operator to display their posts within the Service, show them in search results, best and recommended lists, and adjust their size or format as needed for this purpose. This permission is free of charge, and posts will no longer be newly displayed once the member deletes them or withdraws, except for parts already spread through other members' scraps or quotes.
  3. The Operator will obtain the member's separate consent to use a post outside the Service (other media, promotional materials, etc.).
  4. Members must not upload posts that infringe on the copyright or other rights of others, and the member who posted is responsible for any violation.

Article 11 (Management of Posts)

  1. The Operator may delete or hide the following posts without prior notice:
    • Illegal information such as illegally filmed material, obscene material, or child and youth sexual exploitation material
    • Content that defames or insults others
    • Content that discloses another person's personal information (contact details, address, face photos, etc.) without consent
    • Content that infringes another person's copyright, portrait rights or other rights
    • Content that discriminates or incites hatred based on race, gender, region, disability, religion, etc.
    • Content that arranges or encourages illegal acts such as gambling or drugs
    • Unauthorized advertising or promotion, and flooding with repeated content
    • Content unrelated to the board's topic or that violates the board's rules
    • Any other content that violates relevant laws
  2. A person whose rights have been infringed by a post may request its deletion through the takedown request procedure. The Operator will delete the post or take temporary measures (suspension of posting for up to 30 days) under Article 44-2 of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection.
  3. Members whose posts have been deleted or suspended may object through an appeal.

Article 12 (Anonymous Boards)

  1. On anonymous boards, the authors of posts and comments are not shown to other users.
  2. However, the Operator may identify the author when necessary, such as for handling reports, usage restrictions, or lawful requests from investigative agencies.
  3. These Terms and relevant laws apply equally to anonymous posts.

Article 13 (Obligations of Members)

Members must not:

  • Use another person's information or impersonate the Operator or administrators
  • Hack the Service, spread malicious code, or interfere with the operation of the Service
  • Collect or upload posts in bulk using automated programs without the Operator's permission
  • Create multiple accounts to manipulate likes or view counts or to evade usage restrictions
  • Use the Service for commercial purposes without the Operator's permission
  • Engage in any other act that violates these Terms or relevant laws

Article 14 (Usage Restrictions)

  1. If a member violates these Terms, the Operator may, depending on the severity, issue a warning, restrict writing or commenting for a period, suspend the account, or permanently ban the member.
  2. For serious violations such as spreading illegally filmed material, account theft or hacking, the Operator may permanently ban the member immediately without going through the stages.
  3. Members subject to usage restrictions may object through an appeal or Contact & Report, and the Operator will review it and notify the member of the result.

Article 15 (Obligations of the Operator)

  1. The Operator complies with relevant laws and these Terms and strives to provide the Service reliably.
  2. The Operator protects members' personal information in accordance with the Privacy Policy.
  3. If the Operator judges a member's opinion or complaint to be justified, the Operator will handle it and notify the member of the result.

Article 16 (Advertising)

The Operator may display advertisements in the Service. Any issue arising from a transaction between a member and an advertiser through an advertisement is between the member and the advertiser, and the Operator is not responsible unless it acted intentionally or negligently.

Article 17 (Limitation of Liability)

  1. The Operator is not responsible for failing to provide the Service due to reasons beyond its control, such as natural disasters or communication outages.
  2. The Operator does not guarantee the accuracy or reliability of posts uploaded by members and is not responsible for the results of actions members take in reliance on posts.
  3. The Operator has no obligation to intervene in disputes arising through the Service between members, or between members and third parties, and is not responsible for resulting damage.
  4. Notwithstanding the above, the Operator is responsible for damage caused by its intent or gross negligence.

Article 18 (Dispute Resolution and Jurisdiction)

  1. If a dispute arises in connection with the Service, the Operator and the member will first consult in good faith to resolve it amicably.
  2. Disputes not resolved through consultation are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and lawsuits shall be filed with the court having jurisdiction under the Civil Procedure Act.
